CROESO.. A warm traditional welcome of tea and home made cake awaits you on your arrival for bed and breakfast on our 20 acre smallholding situated 3 miles inland from Little Haven and Broad Haven and near Haverfordwest in Pembrokeshire and on the edge of the Pembrokeshire National Park.
Our comfortable bed and breakfast guest house overlooks woodland and landscape scenes of fields, hedgerows, seasonal flowers and adjoins Rosemoor Mature Reserve.
During the summer months Shetland ponies graze our paddock with sheep grazing in the fields all year round.
Our garden is a haven for birdlife with greater spotted woodpeckers; nuthatches; sparrows; finches; robins; blue tits, great tits and coal tits visiting our feeding stations throughout the day and especially at breakfast time.
Ron and Sandra, both born in Pembrokeshire, have gained a reputation for friendly hospitality in the warm welcoming atmosphere of Barley Villa bed and breakfast, with many of our guests returning time and time again for bed and breakfast and to enjoy the personal and unpretentious service we offer - or perhaps it is the tea and home made Welsh cakes and Bara brith Sandra offers guests on arrival!
Pembrokeshire has something to offer everyone and Barley Villa bed and breakfast is an ideal place to stay whilst savouring the beauty and attraction of this wonderful area.
Pembrokeshire caters for all activities and is an excellent county for water sports. Enjoy walking, cycling, kayaking, diving, scuba diving, sailing, fishing and horseriding or a more relaxing activity such as visiting historic country houses and castles.
Our bed and breakfast is just 6 miles West of Haverfordwest, an old market town with the
relics of Haverfordwest
Castle and the
Haverfordwest Records office where you can search your family tree at
leisure.
Milford Haven, is just 5 miles away. The old fishing port of Milford Haven is now a modern marina, and the site of the Milford Haven Museum.
To the West of Barley Villa bed and breakfast is the sailing village of Dale and the village of Marloes and Marloes Sands. Drive through Marloes to Martins Haven where the boat is boarded for visiting offshore Islands of Skomer, Skokholm and Grassholm famous for their Gannets, Manx Shearwaters and popular Puffins that nest on Skomer during the Summer months before returning to sea for the winter.
We are about halfway along the 186-mile coastal path renowned for its spectacular views and the closest, easy access from us is Broad Haven and Little Haven.
We are ideally situated for visiting all areas of Pembrokeshire.
In North Pembrokeshire visit the bays of Abereiddy, Porthgain and St David's, the smallest city in Great Britain with its magnificent Cathedral and Bishops Palace which is very popular with our visitors and visit Solva, a delightful old fishing harbour with excellent places to eat,
South Pembrokeshire offers visitors the beautiful attractions of Tenby, Saundersfoot, Pembroke with its fabulous Castle, Manorbier also hosts a well kept Castle. Visit Bosherston Lily ponds, the Green Bridge of Wales and St Govans Chapel all three being part of the Stackpole Estate.
There are many other places of interest which Sandra will advise you of to help you to explore Pembrokeshire whilst staying at our bed and breakfast.
Barley Villa is a non-smoking establishment catering for adults and young people over fourteen.
Our twin bedroom with en-suite shower room overlooks our pony paddock, while the double en-suite bedroom overlooks our garden and patio, an area where you are welcome sit and relax after a busy day.
All rooms have hospitality trays with tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits, central heating, hair-dryer, radio and comfortable beds.
Relax in the comfortable lounge/diner and enjoy a real coal fire on chilly evenings - watch television or play the selection of board games provided for guests - if you can stay awake long enough after a busy day exploring Pembrokeshire!
We have ample private parking for cars and boats and bicycle storage.
Enjoy our delicious, traditional cooked breakfasts using local Pembrokeshire produce.
We offer a full traditional breakfast or lighter choices if desired. Our help yourself choices include fresh fruit dishes; cereals, muesli, grapefruit, yogurts, prunes and fruit juice. This is followed by bacon and sausages from our local butcher, fresh grilled tomatoes, mushrooms, baked beans and farm eggs cooked the way you like them - fried, poached or scrambled. Complimented with white or wholemeal toast, home made jams and marmalades and local honey. Enjoy a breakfast that will keep you going until your evening meal.
Special diets are catered for with prior arrangements
For eating out we can personally recommend Pembrokeshire local Inns and Restaurants. The seaside villages of Broad Haven and Little Haven are closest to us and serve good quality, reasonably priced pub meals with their restaurants specialising in excellent fish dishes. Haverfordwest and Milford Haven offers agood choice of pubs and restaurants with Indian and Chinese cuisine available also.
